All prepped and getting color tomorrow. The guys at the shop were blown away by the lack of clear on the car. They pretty much said it didnt have any at all.

That's all behind me now, at least all of the chips are gone!

BTW: I had no idea we had those huge woofers in the doors!

Wow, all that just for the chips around your wheels? Or is there more the story?

Are you going with the original VR, or changing it up to something new? And are you having them put on a different/thicker clear than the OEM?

Very long story... A combination of the insane amount of chips and just an incredibly poor paint job meant it needed a respray.

They are putting 3 coats of color and 3 coats of clear on it. Stripped the hood to bare and blocked the entire car. They are also putting on some larger 3M plastic in front of the rear tire and on the lower doors.

I'm optimistic... I have faith in these guys. I will upload pics when I pick it up friday.

I hate OB paint from infiniti... I do not doubt that our car have any clear.

original red... I cant imagine what it would have cost for a color change.

 

+1 i wish i had the money to repaint my car. my ob is in TERRIBLE condition and i try taking care of it too . I love black cars but i hate owning one.......
