Hmm ... given that this is a leased car ... can you "mod" it this way?

I don't mean to be a wet blanket here, but this just sounds fishy as hell from your description. You go to the dealership and are quoted $669 for a painted and installed OEM spoiler. That's too much so somebody at the dealership puts you in contact with a guy (who works at the same dealership?) who can do the same part for $395 but not through the dealership, at your house? Am I understanding this correctly?

Dude, this sounds shady like a ****. My Spidey senses are tingling on this one. Either 1) he's stealing the parts from the dealership to put on your car, 2) it's a different and much lower quality non OEM part, or 3) he's scoping out where you live to steal your car, parts off of it, or break into your house.

Maybe I'm being too cynical, but what my wise old grandmother would say about this situation is, "Honey, that's too much sugar for a dime." She was usually right.

OEM spoiler looks so much better than the chrome deck trim. The spoiler is so small but really makes the car flow.

Good point. However the person who put me in contact with the guy was not the same person who quoted me $669. It was my sales-rep and I trust him. Also he's going to my office, not to my house. I also keep my car garaged so I'm not worried about that, and I can see my car from my office window all day long . Hopefully the spoiler looks like exactly or almost exactly like OEM or I'm not going to do it being that my car is leased. So we'll see what happens, keep you guys posted.

Please do. It just sounds funny to me but maybe I'm being too paranoid from all the recent malfeasance that's been happening t members' G's.

Question. Is the dealer's price for part and install including replacing the rear deck inside the car with the one without the break-light hump, wiring the new break light to the one in the spoier and doing the back-up camera work? I'm guessing the guy you know is just slapping a spoiler on the back and calling it a day?

Dealer price does not include rear deck swap but typically does include them hooking up the brake light on the spoiler.

Spoiler it is!!!!! I just got installed today. The guy did an awesome job. Paid $395. I'm not sure what kind of spoiler it is, the guy just came and put it on.

Sorry for the crappy pics. I just wanted to follow up here, I know some members likr BB wanted to know if it was legit. It took a month to get the guy to come out, but I am really impressed with how it came out. Fitment was perfect, and fit and finish is awesome.

i have spoiler and i feel colormatched chrome thingy looks nicer. but that's just me.
it's like i prefer the look of evo IV without the spoiler.. looks so much cleaner and sexy
just colormatch ur spoiler thingy.. there're people on the board who did it and it looks really good!

I'm pretty sure it looks like V2, someone correct me if I'm wrong but going by memory the V1 didn't have a brake light, this one does. This one is also more aggressive than OEM. So IMO it looks like V2, but I cant say for sure, because like I said hey guy just came and installed it.

Ok well then this doesn't even look like Grubbs. Check out how the brakelight on mine is farther from the trunk than than the Grubbs V1 in the link you sent me. It looks similar, but it's not Grubbs. If anything it looks more like Kidcane's V2, just without the backup camera.

^ no ure confused..

there is a backup camera version and a non backup camera version for the Grubbs V2.

The PG is w/ the camera.. the BO is w/o the camera.

The other PG is V1 without 3rd brake light or backup camera.

and I think urs is the V1 with the 3rd brake light, w/o camera.
