very very very disappointed/mad/upset angry (paint issues)

I bought my Red G37S 6MT back on January 15th (2 months ago). I live in Indiana and it has been a typical winter up here until last week. I went out and was finally able to wash and wax my car in the sunshine. Well, after wax, I just about flipped my lid. The nose, hood, and right side of my car is chipped up big time! The paint is one big swirl mark too!

I knew a couple weeks into ownership that the paint was horrible as far as swirl marks, but I had no idea I had nearly as many chips as I did. I have probably 20-30 chips on the hood and countless chips on the side of my car. I am furious. The worse part is in front of the rear tire (and on the door behind the front tire)

Here is in front on the driver side rear tire - after 2 months! Keep in mind this pic was taken after wash and wax!!

It feels like sandpaper.

What do I do? Has anyone else had this problem this bad?

Neil

It is a known issue that nissan paint is soft and easily chipped. Sadly, by driving the G in winter conditions where there is salt and sand on the road, it just adds to the damage. That is why i bought a beater for the winter. Either way, nissan needs to fix this issue and they attempted it with the scratch shield paint but i am not sure how well it works.

I drove a 2005 Mustang GT for 4 years (110K miles) and it didnt look this bad when I sold it. I wont have any paint left after 2 years.

This has ruined any buzz I have on this car now, I am regretting buying it now. We spend way too much money on these cars to have them look like this.

It'll probably take a class action suit to get Infiniti to do anything about the paint issue at all.

I'm ready, let's start one!

Actually, I am giving them one chance to do something about it. I am going to the dealer thursday to show them their crappy paint after 2 months. I think I know the outcome but we'll see.

There isn't much you can do. The dealership isn't gonna repaint your car either. I'd recommend that you get a clear bra/shield for the front and lower body and rear and get yourself a winter beater. Good luck.

Do you have wider front tires than the stock (225)?

I've got some chips in the front of my car as well. Good thing I have AG, it doesn't show as much.
Keep us posted on what the dealer will say/do.

Then don't buy one, plain and simple

Hmmm maybe I'm the only one that has not one paint chip lol. Before I took delivery, the dealer had a 3M clear Bra installed for me. I was going to have it installed the following week after getting my G37, but I was afraid some paint chips could happen in between that time. May this be a lesson to protect before driving off the lot. I don't think it's that hard to invest $100+ in a clear bra.

something does not look right in that photo. Why are there white flecks over the clear bra material??? Film should not chip like that.... Have you tried clay barring the area to see if any of that will come off???
