Infiniti and their paints suck. I'm going through a nightmare trying to get my repainted bumper to match the rest of the car. Its been repainted three times already and still not good enough. The dealer must think that I'm the customer from hell because I'm not accepting the "well the bumpers don't ever match perfectly" excuse.
Maybe all car companies have issues with metallic paints matching but I'm taking it out on Infiniti now.

Only the factory has the original paint, which is in Japan.

Any metallic paint is hard to match, not just Nissans.

Yeah, I'm really just pissed and taking it out on Infiniti/Nissan. Four repaints later and still no perfect match. Its dishearting thats all. Some angles look perfect while others are just like WTF??

I don't get how my POS '05 Chevy Cobalt has better paint than a brand new Infiniti G37? Cobalt has 82k miles on it (used it for college, bought it brand new), many highway and back-road miles on it due to college commute and the paint is still in good condition and the car cost is 1/3 of the G. It doesn't get fingernail scratches nor does it get scratched easily with bumps, etc.

Chevy paint > Infiniti paint? FOR SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately I can second that. My wife's vehicles are leased company vehicles. She just got rid of a 3 year old Equinox and got a new black Impala. I gave it a good detail yesterday and I detailed my G last week. To those who say that all these paints are the same and that we're exaggerating the problem, I say BS. I did them back to back. same color, same products and there is a big difference. The Chevy is a lot bigger and still it took much less time to do. IMO the end result turned out better too.

Thank the environmentalists of the world. All the new regulations and laws have made paint weak and soft. I hate to be the bringer of bad news but its only going to get worse since they are going to water based paints. Not just Nissan/Infiniti either... all automakers. I hear the sme complaints in all the car forums...
