i just got a quote for $695 to finish the half hood and front end, so $500 is a good price. I am still thinking to do it or not? I will tint the windows first! haha

 

Apparently the East coast is F'd up with snow so Atlanta was a no go today. Will be going through Houston tomorrow.

Anyway, to Joey, the $500 quote was to only do the front bumper and mirrors. I paid $650 for the whole front end including half hood, half fenders, mirrors and I also got him to do the cups behind the door handles after reading another thread on here about scratches behind it!

 

ask for 3M(harder to install, more prone to yellowing-especially on white, been around the longest, orange peel, but overall preferred by veteran installers) or Ventureshield with CLEAR COAT(easier for the installer, less prone to yellowing, fairly new on the market, clear!). Price will also depends on if the install is custom(minimal seams, factory look, one-piece) or pre-cut(multiple seams exposed, cheaper, prefer by novice installers) install......... good luck, and any other questions welcome =D

 

Just an FYI....VentureShield has a LIFETIME warranty against bubbling, yellowing, or defects in product quality. It's more clear than 3M from what reviews I've seen....and frankly, I LOVE the quality of my VentureShield. I'll never own another car without a clear bra by VS.

 

Wow, sounds like you are quoting your installer. First of all 3M has been around a long time but is one of the worst films on the market. It has way to much orange peel, does yellow, and has been prone to crazing over time. Most of the top quality installers I know around the country use Venture as opposed to 3M.

What you call custom installing is also a nightmare for most customers because 99% of the so called "custom" installers WILL cut your paint. I know... I have removed many of these custom installs only to find cut marks all over the paint. Kits are much better than they were 10 years ago and are even designed now to wrap all the edges reducing seam lines. No matter wether it is a kit or not you will have to have some seams on some model of cars because it is still a flat peice of material going on a 3 dimensional surface. As a matter of fact, I am going to do an install in Tennessee because a supposed pro installer cut a guys paint job up on his new Vette. Even after the client told him ahead of time "no blades around the paint".

Dont let an installer tell you they can custom cut the film and that its better... because the majority of them will cut your paint and you wont know it until the film is removed.

 

VentureShield FTMFW!!! I agree that your installer needs to use a pattern (VS authorized installers use custom pre-cut patterns so there's not a knife near your paint). If you're near the Knoxville, TN area, Phat Boy Customz did my VS clearbra and did an awesome job.

Hood
Bumper cover top and bottom
Headlamps
Fog lamps
Fender ends
Side mirrors

Seems kind of high?
