Blanking plate.

I'm already in the process of making one of those (hence the one piece rubber strip). On version 2 at the moment. It'll eventually be done in carbon fibre to match the other 2 panels.

Looking at your engine bay, clearly I'm not the first person to think of using a single piece of trim-seal back there. [/QUOTE]

"Blanking Plate", huh? Never knew what I should call it, and that makes sense. Thanks!

I think the breakthrough moment was when I realized the easiest mounting technique was to use push rivets into newly drilled holes at each side. Good luck with your project. Love to see your final work. Interesting choice that you're using aluminum instead of plastic. It certainly gives you more options to cut and shape it however you need.

Close-up photo on the CF wrap over the center of your engine cover, er-r-r... that's no bueno, buddy. Sorry.

I'm also a dealer for TommyKaira products (I live in Japan), hence the turtles. There are actually 4 of them in this engine bay, the other being the oil dipstick cover. I use the car to showcase new products. But you're right in that there are more TK products inside the car. However, this is not really overkill, as TommyKaira did produce a V36 Skyline sedan and many of the parts on my car are those original V36 TK parts. For example interior carpets, kickplates, airbag cover, interior clock, trunk spoiler etc.

its actual carbon fibre (raw with a protective coating) but is going to be completely redone, carbon fibre skinnned and resin coated.

I'm not surprised you're working that. With all you've got here, that doesn't seem like the kind of thing you'd give a pass on.

Awesome work overall, buddy.

Like this interior piece that I finished last year. It's just extremely messy and time consuming to do, so haven't got around to doing the engine bay pieces yet.

I'm using them on my intakes. But swapped out the bolts for titanium since the chrome started to rust.

I'm looking at your burnt-ti allen bolts at the throttle bodies. Often thought of doing that with polished Ti; (don't like the burnt look).

Very nice.

Polished Ti looks great too, much better than the cruddy blackish/greenish OEM bolts. I just have them burnt to match my intake pipes.

Next one will probably be the G37.

I already hid away the light harness, tackling the power wire routing soon.

These two things clean the engine bay up so much

I like the painted valve covers, I have had some plastic adhesion promoter and red crinkle coat along with new gaskets sitting in my garage since last year waiting for a similar mod...kinda sucks the way the engine is designed between the cover and the

I can never tell what to do to tuck wires, but it always seems to look better than normal...even if I cant tuck em I'd like to replace the cracking plastic coating on the harnesses running around the engine bay at some point on my car with something more durable. my biggest concern is upsetting the dried out wiring and not wanting to unplug wiring unless necessary...all other things I'm up for but I really don't like messing with wiring lol
