Gouge in the paint above RHS EXHAUST

Heya

Car is 2 weeks old and just happened to do a recky (for you Americans - "reckon what I can see" - a recky) after I got it cleaned.

Smiling at the brilliant shine, checkin out the curves, go round the back - F***! Theres chunk of paint missing just above the RHS exhaust - heat maybe? Haven't hit anything or done the damage - and it's back to metal... similar anyone?

Damn it man - have left cleaning it till now as am getting the Diamonbrite thing on Monday that will really make it look like liquid platinum and there's a goddamn chunk outa my paint!

iPjhone pics so not gr8 quality

First pic is just cause I love the dude - he rocks - is that weird that I think of the car as male? ANyways

The second and third one are a bit vague but pls enlarge - it's not tar or ashphelt - my fingure almost disappears in the hole ('k I know thats dramamtic but it's 2 weeks old)

Thought I would see if the dealer would touch it up before the Diamondbrite (basically a 3 year guaranteed slick coat that makes it look like liquid when clean) to fill in the holes (makes me bummed just saying that!).

1. Any ideas if this is "normal wear and tear" - I AM doing 180 k's (100 mph) to work regularly - we do love the road rules here
2. Will most dealers have a fillers/paint to smooth over the damage?
3. Lets think about turbo charging the beast ! That being said I drive an auto (traffic here demands it) and found the DS option - meant for hillclimbs and tight corners but booya! it sure splits the sand on the highway! No seriously - turbo?

That does not look like heat damage. Looks like rock chip or hit something. Are there any stress cracks around the chip?

Is it possible that your detailer did this? Or did you clean your car?

That's not normal. and it's not weird that you consider your car a male.

My car is Casshern cause it's badazz like that.

Looks like a massive rock chip. But I am confused as to how it happened to your rear.

Detailer? Nope - my first hand clean tonight was closely supervised - all soft cloths and high pressure water.

Must say that we have it good here - totally sparkling hand wash and inside clean like you just bought it - USD $10. Don't ask - thats whole nother story.

I know it's minor in the whole wolrd peace thing and I certainly didn't do a full top to tail recky on the car when I picked it up at 20:30 at night.

If it's not some bizarre exhauhst burn mark I'll cope and find a way to move on

Lets face it - this car in sports sports mode - remember I said I just found how much power the DS shift has - what can I say - woody! At MY age! LOL

A paint chip won't change that but I sure as hell intend on "modding" that before I move on to turbo.

Cheers all!

Love the fact thatwhile I type a response y'all are in there workin it out.

Rock chip - seems unlikely as you have all said. If it was the front bumper could accept it but DIRECTLY above the exhaust? In a RWD car rick damamge would never show there,,,

Not gonna get too ADD about it - s*** happens and ya jusyt gotta accept it yes? Even on your awesome lookin gorgeous god damn totally hard on car AAARRRGGGGG!!!

No really - I'm OK with it *grin*

Just gotta get it fixed on the next service I guess. I hope - DO SERVICE POINTS HAVE FILLER PAINT FROM YOUR(S) EXPERIENCE?

Really having a tough time following you.....

But it looks like something hit it, like a cart, something was shot at it, rocks.....

Dealerships have touch up paint but that region is pretty big.

yeah, there's no way in hell a rock chip would get there... somebody probably accidentally did that... or purposely vandalized it... either way touch up paint might make it look better, but then again, you're gonna notice it
