Tanabe Medallion Exhaustttt

i wanna pick up the one for sale on the forum and i have Question for all of those that owned that system...ive down lots of searches and its evident it quiets down after break in and some of you complain that you missed that initial sound it had...my questions is 1 out of 10 if the stock sounds like a 10 for example than how much would you say it quiets down to after break in? besides that i love that exhaust note

Haha uhhhh, wrong section dude.

I just pulled the trigger on this as well. I'll let you know when it comes in this or next week.

Just in case you haven't heard it, here's a clip from the Tanabe website.
http://www.tanabe-usa.com/soundclips.asp

Or there's a bunch of clips on youtube as well. It seems that most people claim the sound quiets down after break in, with a couple people claiming it actually got louder. I hope the former is the case since I don't want a loud exhaust. I remember when I got my Greddy MX's for my Accord it was quieter in the beginning and got louder later...

I'm not quite sure if I understand your question? Is 1 being the loudest or 10? and are you wanting to know if it gets quiter than stock after breakin or what? Maybe try rewording the question?

Here's a link to my review on the system, maybe it will help you out.

basically my question after break in i know the tone gets quieter...but how much quieter? is there still a very nice noticeable difference from the actual stock exhaust?

OK, Yes it is definatly louder and more noticable than stock. Not too loud though. After breakin and under normal driving there is just a nice subtle growl that you can hear. I like the sound after breakin better. Before it was almost too loud and droany. now it is great.

Yeah if your worried that Tanabe will sound quieter than OEM, that's not even an issue. Tanabe regardless of the break in will still be louder. But like wakeboarder said, every exhuast I've had, even for other cars, I think they sound better after a little break in. My Audi, 3 trucks were the same, didn't sound as good when I first pulled out of the shop, a little carbon later and it sounded nice.
