Vehicle Alarm Impact Sensor

Hey I noticed that the New 2009 G37 gives you an option to add a Vehicle Alarm Impact Sensor. I don't think this was an available option on the 08's. Can this be added to the 08's? It would be better than getting an aftermarket because it will just be linked to the key fob.

On the website it says it costs $130 extra. Worth it?

(From the Infiniti Website)
Vehicle Alarm Impact Sensor
• Sensors detect impact vibrations from a window breaking
• Vibrations trigger your vehicle's factory-installed alarm system

Nice add-on 130 is pretty step though just for the Impact sensor component, but i guess it is what it is.

I might consider this just because its oem.. you dont need an extra remote.. you dont need an aftermarket alarm spliced into a bunch of wires, etc etc. so that please of mind and simplicity is nice, you wont get all the features of an aftermarket alarm but this is something i was looking for.

i bet you that the 08's come with the sensor built in, all they do is just activate it.

Increase their manufacturing cost? I doubt that.

I had a slightly off-topic but not really question... how can we add remote start to our cars if our foot needs to be on the brake? Anyone done this or heard of a dealer install?

i ordered a few cars with it and they cancelled the order for the accessory. it should actually be able to classify as a passive alarm and give insurance a discount in some states. I'll have one of the members test it out b/c it's on his new 2009 G37 sedan he's picking up in a few days.
