trunk struts when installing OEM or aftermarket spoiler

I searched around for this but didn't find anything. If you have installed a spoiler in place of the chrome trim on the trunk lid, maybe you noticed that your trunk now slams shut. Extra weight needs a beefier gas strut which look like they cost at least $150 apiece. Has anyone found a better deal to buy these? Seems like there has to be a better deal than that.

I've replaced trunk struts on other cars with ones you can buy at a local auto parts store. You can find them for as little as $20-$30 each, however they tend to not last very long and you'll be replacing them every year or two.
