KP Tech: Turning headlights on w/ keyfob; anyone interested?

Hey everyone! I just got home from Kevin's house (KP Technologies). He installed his window roll-up module and his navigation bypass module for me. First of all; what a great guy!! I'm very lucky to live so close to someone with such an encyclopedic knowledge of the electronics and wiring on our cars. He made those installations look so easy; I was amazed (in the freezing cold of his garage no less). And on top of that, one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. I highly recommend his products: top quality products from a top quality person!

Anyway, I mentioned to him that I wished our headlights came on when we unlocked the car with the keyfob. Imagine walking through a dark parking lot at night, and unlocking your car from across the parking lot, and having the headlights/taillights come on to light up the area around your car as you approach it. This would be especially useful for anyone with the Ironman mod, because then you can admire X-Vert's work as you walk towards your car!!

Anyway, he mentioned that it probably wouldn't be too hard to modify one of his already-existing modules to do exactly that. He's willing to give it a try and see what he can come up with, but wanted to know if there's any more interest out there.

Would anyone else be interested in a module that would allow you to turn on your headlights when you unlock your car from your keyfob?

I can tell you that I have tried every possible way to make the headlights come on when I unlock my car using the keyfob. No matter what the switch is set to, they don't come on until you hit the start button. I sat in my garage for 45 minutes one night trying to make it happen; it never did.

Really? Mine has never drained... And I leave my headlights on all the time; they turn off 5 minutes after you turn the car off. You sure you're iPod or something else isn't draining the battery?

I'd be interested depending on complexity of install.

Kevin made it sound like it would probably be nothing more difficult than the window roll-up module (but that was just him standing in his driveway brainstorming how to do it). I'm not sure how familiar you are with KP Technologies products, but he installed my window module in about 30 minutes. The installs are waybeyond me, but for people who are handy with electronics, they looked fairly simple.

Wow, I feel like I need to check out my battery now! I never had any problems with mine, so I just assumed everything was going to plan. Is this a common problem?

Maybe he can do something like this for the G35 as well.

Ideally, it wouldn't do it every time. Rather, you press another button at the same time or something.
