quick tint question

So I'm throwing on my new tints today, and I know that I have to keep the windows closed for about a week. But I wanted to know, you know how the window rolls down a little when you open the door and then rolls up after you close it so it can get a better close? Will this effect/damage the tint?

You're fine. No way around this. The movement when you open the door is too minimal to damage it.

Not that this makes a different but it looks better, see if you can find a tinter that does micro-edging or shaved installations. Basically this takes the tint right up to the edge of the window for a factory tinted look... no 1/4 border of clear glass.

I don't know if it's just because I'm in CA, but I've only had to leave the windows up for 2 days, and never any problems. Might be because it was early summer and its pretty sunny out here. BUt don't worry about the slight window drop, it didn't effect my tint.

BTW, it's Tint, singular. "You're getting your windows tinted." Not Tints.

You from the east coast or midwest? I always hear tints from back east. I guess its just a conference thing. Us west coasters say tint or tinted, east coast always uses tints.

It caused my window tint on my drivers side to come up the day of,

a trick ive seen is that people tape the sensor where the tire info is on the door sill in so it stays down and doesnt go up. this could be a fix.

if it goes up and down and you dont tape it, then it should be fine. just watch it.

If you slam the door you run the risk of breaking the window, your not going to get the vehicle to seal up correctly. The window's extend up into the top of the sill if it didn't do this it would rest on the outside of the sleeve.
