debadging a G37S

I recentley debadged my brand new '08 G37s blue slate and after removing the glue and waxing and polishing over and over again it appears that I still have the outline of the letters. Any input? It kinda looks like ghosting only the car is only a week old so its not. It kinda seems like the glue is still on....help

Did you use Goo Gone? That should've gotten rid of the glue without a prob... I used it after debadging mine and I had the emblems on for about 6 months.... No scratches, swirls or anything...

not an expert and hae not done it myself but try a good detailing and a light rubbing compound to get rid of the outlines. Any detailers on here that can give this guy a hand better than me?

No way don't repaint it... Try some rubbing compound (Turtle Wax works fine for me, find it at local Kragen's/Autozone for like $8) and it should be able to get it out... If that doesn't work them im stumped...

Just wait a few days, leave it in the sun and they will go away.

They did for me any ways.

JaySpeed....what color is your car that it just went away? Does it matter what color it is? And did you have the same problem?

Today, my OB G was debadged

I used goo gone and it says it removes bugs, tar, decals, bumper stickers, adhesives..etc. THEN it says may irritate.

Guess what, the only thing it did was IRRITATE and ANNOY the hell out of me and didn't work at all. so i went back to the store and bought this

Turtle Wax® Bug & Tar Remover

this product worked like a charm, there were some little outlines of the letters because there are swirls marks on the car, so when you remove the badges, you can see the letters because under the badges there are no swirls. therefore it sticks out.

I also used some Meguiars wax, all in all it was a perfect job in the end. when the swirls marks blend the letters will disappear.

that Goo GONE is GONE forever to the garbage.

Ive used goof off, goo gone, and all the other listed here in the past. They all work fine. Usually buffing the area after the goof off n such works fine for me and doesnt leave any imprints.

the goo gone didnt work for me at all, the other product I used worked soooo much better, in a few minutes the badges are all gone and it leaves no imprints at all. this product removes stuff and waxes at the same time, but i still waxed the area with meguiars

When you say you polished it did you use a buffer? If not take it to a detail shop, they should be able to polish that out.
