Estimate on Labour for Lights
Estimate on Labour for Lights
Hi,
I'm in Vancouver, BC and there is a reputable shop that quoted me $250 for angel eyes install on the g37.
I then asked how much to install AEs, 6k HID Bulb, 6K HID FOG Conversion, and the City Lights. He then quoted me $400 + taxes.. what do you guys think is this fair? How many hours of work would this take? They have never worked on a G37 before so... it might take them longer..

Based on science, 4300 K is optimal for visibility, 6000 K actually hinders others' visibility (too bright/blinding) as well as your own. Just thought I'd mention that the stock 4300 K are optimal for visibility.

I personally have 6000k headlight bulbs and i don't notice any decrease in light output (if any at all) from the 4300's going to the 6000k. I can say however that the light is a whiter color on the road and because our cars have projectors that the cutoff is very nice and does not blind others like you may think.
On the other hand, converting the fogs that are originally HALOGEN will indeed produce unwanted glare.
For the price quote, just get them to install the angel eyes, shoot a PM to sTiLLBaLLiN37, i believe he got them done and can tell you how much he paid. Then you can do the bulbs yourself, they aren't too hard.
Goodluck with your install!

if the place never installed Angel Eyes i think thats reasonable to charge you. If they have done Angel Eyes i think thats a rip off... For other lights i think the shop is ripping you of for sure... It wont even take 30min to change all that.
That price is right for labor on the Angel Eyes, somewhat because I paid 280 for everything for mine. The halos are not a direct fit so custom fabrication must be done to make it fit accordingly. They also must remove the bumper and take apart the headlights a 2 hour or 2.5 hour job.
On a side note: I believe that the Angel Eyes are not made for the G37, that they are made for the G35 Coupe. I saw on the actual box it came in, it said "G35"..
