windshield

who makes out windshield? because it is amazing. I was driving on the highway today going around 75 and i went to pass a big cement truck and i saw this big rock, it was around a inch or 3/4ths inch wide. Then i close my eyes for a second because i knew something bad was going to happen, no matter where it landed, and i hear a big crack. I open my eyes and i see no cracked windshield lol i was amazed.

Made by NASA. I believe it is the same glass they use on the space shuttle.

Unfortunately, I 2nd this. I have had this happen where it looks like no damage and then the windshield cracks later.

I dont believe their is anything special about the windshield but sometimes you can just get lucky in how it hits.

Just as an FYI: My insurance company has an option for like $5 a year where I can get free windshield replacements with no deductables and your insurance can not rise because of it. It varies from state to state but it my be worthwhile.

I know for a fact that in the state of Florida the insurance companys HAVE to pay for your front glass if it develops a crack. No questions asked. Pretty good deal. I have replace about 5 in different cars and not one of them cost me a penny.

Our windows are very good at not cracking but they do chip easily. The glass is not as hard as other windshield glass for this reason but because it is softer you tend to get chips very easily.

That is correct; it is a "Hazard" to drive with your windshield cracked, therefore, prevention is the only route - a cracked windshield will always worsen. There is also NO deductible on this coverage.

Just joking, No means of you
