Question Fog lights too hot??

Yesterday I installed the MTEC 4350K H1 fog lights. After having the lights on for a few minutes the headlights got hot! Very hot, like hot beyond belief. Do all fogs get really hot, and do the stock fogs get really hot too? Has anyone noticed the same thing?

The bulbs are similar to H.I.D., but they are not H.I.D. Bulbs. They are considered Racing Halogen Bulbs that are an extreme white color. Also are a great color match to our stock 4300k stock headlights.

Higher wattage than stock then? If so, that's why.

The bulbs are 55 watt that produce 100 and they are also 12volt. Is that the same as stock? If so, have you ever noticed that your stock fogs make the headlight housing extremely hot?

It's either 55 or 100, can't be both. Not sure what stock is, but 55 is typical for headlights, 100 would get pretty hot.

The bulbs use 55 watts, abd put out 100. The bulbs are MTEC 2X, but MTEC also offers 4X that use 100 watts and prouce 150 watts.

Yeah, the bulbs get hot quickly, but does the actual headlight housing get hot as well? Mine is very hot to the touch after being on for a few minutes.

Did you handle the bulbs with your hands? I dont see why they wont last at least 6 months. And after they blew, what bulbs did you end up putting in?

What color temperature are you running with the Piaa, and how much did they set you back?

if they run very hot with no place for the heat to go it will burn them out faster.
