I was given a 07 G sedan while mine was getting worked on and I noticed there are 2 small ambient lights where my G37 only has 1?
1. Why is that?
2. What kind of bulb is this light ?
3. Anyone messed with changing it or looked at it?

This is most likely a LED. I noticed that it doesn't really serve to provide any ambient light, but rather spotlights the aluminum around the console and down to the stick. Put your finger over it and then remove it to see the effect--the ambient light doesn't seem to change any, just your center console becomes slightly lit so you can tell where to reach for things. LED is a rapidly advancing technology (longer life, more lumens [candlepower], and less energy consumption), so maybe they found that one now serves where two did?

Well I'd love to tell you an easy way to do that but unforunately its probably going to have to do with removing the upper console area, and that does not seem like an easy task.

 

yup... thats what i was thinking... maybe someone will find out sometime and post about it...

 

i'm sure the whole thing pops out...just use a butterknife...works in the toyotas and honda/acura overhead console

Yea, my girl has a 07 altima its kinda the same set-up as the G, and she has two lights.. I was pissed lol..
