Hey gmlee, how is the 3M film working out for you? You got it for 180 OTD? I've been looking at estimates for Huper Optik and F1 Pinnacle but they're at least well over 200.

Also, what kind of warranty did you get?

The 3M film has great so far. And yeah, $180 OTD. As for the warranty, I can't remember if it was lifetime or 5 years, but by the time 5 years rolls around, I'll probably have a new car anyways.

You have any pics you can post? Right now, I'm looking at several brands: Huper Optik, F1 Pinnacle, 3M Color Stable, Madico AC, and Johnson Insulatir. Since I have a black car, I don't want it to look reflective (so no Johnson). I don't like the idea of the green hue either (leaves out Huper Optik). I hear F1 Pinnacle looks the best since it has a grey/charcoal like hue to it, which would match my car perfectly. I've never seen 3M ceramic in person, so I wouldn't know.

So my choices are:
- F1 Pinnacle
- 3M Color Stable
- Madico Advanced Ceramic

I see on the tintmastercity website that they carry Madico as well. Did you ever get a quote on that?

Anyway, yeah pictures would be great! THanks!

oh yeah, and did they take a picture of u and ur car? haha i looked for a G37 on the website but i didn't see it...i did see andrew bynum though lol.

They were really pushing the 3M so I didn't get a quote on the Madico, but I'm sure they'll quote you over the phone. Just ask for Matt. As for the pictures, it looks darker from different angles and lights so thats why certain pics look lighter while others look darker. And no, they didn't take any pictures lol

Does any one know how the tinting looks if you don't do the same tint all the way around. Ex: 20% on smaller back windows and 30% on drive and passenger windows.

See the only problem with doing something like that is since the light comes in from the front of the car the front windows will look a lot lighter than the rears. 20/30 won't look too bad but IMO you're better off doing 20 all around.

I use a guy in So. Cal (southbay) but i think he goes around Los angeles that comes to you. Just need a power oulet in the area you want him to do the tint.

For the G37 he quoted me around $180. He uses 3M tints only and carries a light 50%, mid 35%, and dark 20% tint.

I used him for a 540i awhile back (old body style) and he did a knock down job. I never had any bubbling or peeling (but only had the car for 3 years after that).

-update-

Just did my G37 with the 35% 3M tints. Looks good, although i probably could have done the 20%. Just don't feel like getting pulled over. Once again he did a knock down job. PM me if you want his info. He comes to you and takes just over an hour.

20% on my black G37, all around minus the windshield. super sexy. super illegal, and super hoping that I don't get a fix-it.

that would blow.
