Satnav DVD Update G37 while driving?

Hey Guys

I bought an Update for my Gs Satnav Navigation. According to the manual the engine has to be running while updating. Is there no more convenient way to do this ? I am planing to do a longer roadtrip. Does the update process work while driving the car?

Thanks for helping

Its a 2014 G37 Convertible

I think they want the car running so that you don't kill the battery, then have the update process get corrupted due to loss of power. It takes some time, but I don't recall it being a crazy amount of time.

This post says 90 mins: https://www.myg37.com/forums/audio-v...te-ver-x9.html

I swear mine was closer to a half hour to forty five minutes?

It seems that the EU Maps takes 2-3 hours.

Best would be doing it while driving.

Quick Update FYI: Updating during the drive is possible without any issues. You need to switch the DVDs one after another. It's important not to turn off the engine during this process. It took about 2 hours and 30 minutes.

i would have told you to save your $$$. Last time I updated the maps were at least 10 years out of date.

I really like being able to watch various movies or TV shows in the car, especially when you're on the road and a movie is playing in the background.

But nowadays not many people use DVD for this purpose. Personally, for example, I watch all movies and TV shows exclusively on https://ww25.soap2day.day/ because it is much more convenient and comfortable. You just turn on the desired movie and watch it and you do not need to buy disks.
Yes, I completely agree with that.
