Look at the dates from the xxxx2003 disc. Most of the files inside of the iso i posted are from 01/2017.
That's true, the TSB disc is (and the whole TSB in general) is dated Sept 2016, so perhaps Clarion released a new version and never made a disc for it.

Looking back through my history, I got the disk back in 01/2018. I must of updated the car shortly after. Seems like so long ago now.
MD5 of the ISO: ec90e80ba03eb3afdc9ea83aa30c77c7
Thanks for the MD5.

I hate updating stuff.
Same, but in this case, it's not really a "if it ain't broke don't fix it". While everything "works", it could be better.

Kia offers the full fw update for free, 2x a year. When I got the car last aug (2021) it had apr2021 fw installed. I updated to the the august (2021) version.

In doing so, I lost the radio digits that look like the light bulbs.

This was a none issue since I never listen to the radio. More importantly, I lost the white icons that indicate where the air is coming from for the hvac. They went to a different color scheme with navy on black which is impossible to see. The new update from last may (2022) fixed this. When the next update rolls around any day now, unless they bring in significant new features (wireless AA??), I won't be updating. Btw, the download for the update is around 30GB and requires a 32-64GB flash drive.

A 30GB software "update?" Geesh..... (wonder how much "spyware" is in there)

At least they allow you to update the firmware yourself for free!

Alright guys, good news! I bit the bullet and did the update anyway... I am now on version X1UC2007 and wow, let me tell you, the Bluetooth works MUCH better!

No drops in connection, no stutters, no song name/album/artist info missing, and all the buttons on the steering wheel and media controls correctly work with Bluetooth now. So, in summary, if you have an M37 with touchscreen Nav and you want your Bluetooth fixed, definitely do the update in @JSolo 's Mega ISO file. Thanks so much to @JSolo and everyone else for your help. So glad I didn't waste almost $200 at the dealership for this stupid update.

I haven't had much time to test, but it defintely seems better and not a placebo. If anything changes or the stutters start again, I'll update this post.

Part of it is fw update, other is map data. Spyware?!@# The damn car has a built in tracking and phone home devices... It comes LTE enabled whether you want that or not!

@M37bluetooth
Glad it worked for you. Feeling kind of adventurous.... It would of cost more than $200 if it bricked .

The real thanks goes to the anonymous user who provided that image in the first place. 👍

And therein partly lies why I will likely never buy another new car again...

Kind of a cool "retro" display. Those lightbulbs are Nixie tube displays, they were common back in the 50's and 60's

Here's a comparison of the old/new. Progress. The old display was something unique to several kia models.

Wonder if the update has anything to do with politics? IE, Nixie tubes were stuff of soviet russia (since they weren't prone to EMP damage) and, well you know.

Fun part of that is most nixies were made in Ukraine. Still are - just delivery times are a bit longer now.

//Full disclosure - I have a few nixie clocks from years ago and use a nixie display face on my smartwatch. So... I like 'em.

These days, is there anything that doesn't have to do with politics....

Kia won't disclose why the change was made.

Speculation on reddit or some other forum I can't remember is to make the display consistent between all their models. I suppose this makes some sense.Either way, doesn't really matter. I turned on the radio a handful of times in the last year. Turns out it supports HD radio. Sort of like the new digital ota. Same base radio station, multiple sub channels.

Rather than fixing what's not broken, I wish they'd bring back the manual day/night/auto option. Now the only option available is auto. The original UI before any updates had the 3 options.

Aaaaaand you've just given me a solid reason to never buy a Kia... OTA updates that remove functionality?

Maybe instead of focusing on high(ish) tech Teslas Musk should spot some money towards an interim high-efficiency ICE inexpensive car that uses an (gasp?) open source UI. for infotainment at least. I mean, as much as he's about being contrary, the idea of an open source / *nix based car should be right up his alley.

Obligatory thread content - so any reason this update mentioned above would be useful for a post-2010 (2013 specifically) NAV car?

That is the issue with any "update" whether it be Apple (Mac/iOS), Android, Windows, car manufacturers, etc. Features are added, many are removed, all for the "benefit" of the end user whether we want it or not. I do not like the "take it or leave it" mentality either. I am dead set against any car that has to have a "internet connection" to function. Or, requires a smartphone/smartwatch to start the car like Nissan/Infiniti (and others) are using with their "virtual key" nonsense. Nope.

The update mentioned above is already 10+ years old. The number of cars this might help is dwindling and as newer bluetooth standards get adopted that further lessens the usefulness. My NAV is 2014 (Q60) and it is on the December 2022 chopping block, per Infiniti.navgation.com (not that it matters, in the 10+ years of owning my G I have never once used the NAV (or BT for that matter)).

What does that mean? No more updates, or it stops working for some reason?

(not that it matters, in the 10+ years of owning my G I have never once used the NAV (or BT for that matter)).
I use the nav sometimes (usually when going someplace I already know my way to, but want an ETA) and the BT every time I'm in the car. My entertainment and navigation streaming device is my phone.

No more DVD map updates after December 2022. At least for the 2014 Q and likely for any pre-2014 model.

I rely solely on USB for "entertainment."

I have to do that in the work car (Apple Carplay but tethered only) and it's a pain. BT and a Magsafe charger/mount for the win in the G.
