Sorry for a thread bump, I have 2008 BOSE no nav and I ONLY want a USB port, what would I need? I have access to 2011 cheap parts, but headunit control panel seems to be identical and heater control panel seems to be the same...
Ive already grabbed 2011 USB port and usb to headunit cable, 2011 headunit without NAV + All connectors (pigtails), would i be able to use my stock 2008 screen with newer 2011 headunit?
Also, if i got headunit pigtails where would i find how to REPIN 2008 vehicle to 2011 pigtails hopefully without cutting and soldering everything, i can pull stock pins out and install them into proper 2011 connectors but i need CONVERSION diagram...

First, there is no "Conversion Diagram." You would have to do what everyone else has done, myself included, and download the AV (Audio Visual) section of the factory manual from NICOclub for both your 2008 and the 2011 donor cars. From there you will map out what needs to be changed. Being you are doing a linear swap not much should be changed, but there will be some changes.
You may want to contact forum member @OWC to see whether they have a conversion harness for non-NAV swaps available for sale. Offhand, I do not know, but this option would take a lot of the homework out of the equation.
That said, you will also need the 2011 display AND the GVIF cable that goes from the display to the headunit. Your 2008 display is useless for 2010+ systems.
You can keep your multifunction switch block (the dial one) and the preset switch panel (the clock one) as you are not adding NAV.
can you tell me what barts I need to upgrade the EX35 to nav.
its currently a base but has Bose audio, no backup cam.
will you be able to provide all the stuff I’ll need to convert it to NAV with backup cam or even the all around cam setup.
Basically convert it from base to journey trim.
im sure i can source the parts but just need the part numbers so I know what im looking for and any adapters I’ll need for correct hookup if you already have them premade.
ps I haven’t removed the radio yet but did look some stuff up and it looks like I need the buttons under screen, main unit behind climate buttons and maybe buttons too, cam module under seat and rear cam. For all around I need more cams and maybe mirrors too and the module for it.
id gladly get parts you list and any harnesses you have for this project.
on top of that, any way to upgrade my 2006 g35 sedan nav (pop up screen) to accept a newer nav dvd (mine maxed at 2015)?
my g35 didn’t come with nav. I converted the car for it among other things.
I'm sorry but I can't find any photos of US radios with connectors at the edge of the chassis like yours.
But check here: https://www.nicoclub.com/infiniti-service-manuals. Click on "G35 / G37 / Q40", (scroll down) click on "G37", click on your model, then click on "2009". Now click on "Audio, Visual and Navigation System" to see the US spec Factory Service Manual. (Scroll down below that viewing window and "Click here to download a copy".) In that book you need to find "...Bose with Nav" which is usually the last section. Hope that helps.
Hi, I read lot of thread in this section but i can't find my radio connector like i can see on the US radio . I have a G37 AM2009 with Nav and Bose .
See my pin on the rear of the radio :
Have you wirring for this radio ?
Thanks

Mickael, what are you trying to do?
As the car is EUC-spec (France) it will have a entirely different wiring setup than the USDM cars. Unfortunately, I am/ will be out of town and unable to proffer any immediate advice but knowing what you're trying to do will help.
Hi
Thanks for reply, i would like to upgrade radio nav with factory radio 2010+ and screen . I find EU radio full with screen and connector but i don't know wiring on my car.
On EU radio up to 2010 connector seem to be the same has US market.
I contcat NifCity if i can upgrade with android auto but only Tesla screen is compatible .
I try to find wiring radio on local dealer Infiniti.
Okay, so here's the dumb question in regards to this.
I have a 2009 with nav and Bose. Since the maps are out of date, and in my case, not even in the same area of the country (car came from VA, I live in NC). Would it be worthwhile to change my radio to a non-nav system and get a vline to use Android Auto with?
For any of the current "aftermarket" options, there is no need to "swap" to the OEM 2010+ system first. Most of the units, whether they be from NiftyCity, GROM's V-Line, or any of the China Tesla-style units, all would integrate with your existing unit. Back when I did the OEM swap, almost 10-years ago, none of these options even existed. Even the conversion kit from OWC did not exist. Honestly, you would not really gain anything at this point as the "newest" you could possibly go to would be 2015 and that is already 10-years-old.
Most of the offerings for the G will run $600-800 give or take. If you were to swap to the 2010+ system, that would add another $300-500 to the cost (depending on what route you take). So, you are looking at north of $1K... IIRC it cost me around $350 total parts/wiring (10-years ago). In the end it is just a matter of what your wallet is comfortable paying and what you are comfortable installing.
Having recently swapped to one of those Android units in the Bimmer, I, too, am now to the point of trying to add CarPlay to the G so we are in similar boats, per se. If only there were a OEM-type HD upgrade for the display...
That said, your current NAV system should still have the map for your current location. They cover the entire country.

This seems to be the most relevant thread, so ill ask here in the hopes that someone can give me a little advice.
im needing to add a backup camera to my g37.
i have an 09 w/o nav or backup camera.
i would like to eventually do what this thread originally discussed and change the system out for the newer screen and nav, but im also very happy with the android stereos that i have in my other vehicles. so i may go that route eventually too.
either way, thats a ways down the line. what im needing asap is the backup camera.
for...many reasons, id like to use the factory camera. I can buy them, and the trim piece to replace very easily now, the question is installation of the camera itself.
i want it to function AS FACTORY. ive seen in threads about the pre 2010 having a camera controller that is(possibly?) in the trunk. and also about a wire running to the stereo for backup camera.
im really looking for verification here if im close or misunderstanding entirely.
i have found the camera, the camera controller, and all needed trim pieces.
from what im understanding, there camera controller does the work and i tie that in to the reverse cable in the trunk and to the camera itself, and power. then it has, what i will call a data wire, that pins into the back of the stereo?
so, is this correct? will that make this work? is there anything else i will need to make it work?
is there an easier way(also affordable)?
thank you so much for any help i can get with this. ive dug around and found what seems to be half info on all this. no big backup camera specific mega thread. lol
If you intend on adding one of those Android things then I would recommend you wait and add the camera when you install Android. The installation will be a lot easier than futzing with swapping parts, adding wiring, installing camera control unit, etc.
I can provide a more detailed breakdown if desired but, while doable, it's a lot more work than it seems. The OEM route is more involved than just running the VIDEO SIGNAL wire from the CCU to the dash. Especially if you want it "as factory."
Why double the work, and the drain on your time and wallet? if your ultimate endpoint is Android I'd wait. Just my 10¢.

mainly, because i dont plan on having the time/money to add the android system in for a couple years.
but ive pulled the trigger on a good deal i found which included all the front end upgrade parts out of a 2013 g37.
it comes with almost all the plugs that i need too...ill just need to take the time to splice the wiring, which i have no issue doing if i have a guide. lol
i also have come across a backup camera that has the wire AND the plug from the car that hooks into it. Its cut off after that though, so the big thing im looking for is the camera to radio plug.
does anyone know where i can get one of these?
from looking at the kit, it does look to be a standalone cable, but i cant find it.
Basically i have an opportunity to get ahold of one of the android boxes that add the secondary system, but it specifically works with only 1 version of the factory radio, or so it says.
as far as the camera goes, ive had aftermarket and factory cameras for different vehicles, and ive never had an aftermarket be as accurately proportioned to the vehicle. Id rather just stick with it.
Ive gotten ahold of a 2013 donor for all the parts listed in this post(stereo, screen, controls, faceplate) and also nabbed a backup camera and spoiler to install with it.
im really now looking for guidance on the wiring.
from reading these posts ive gathered 2 things;
im meant to go to the 2 years/layouts of vehicles in the service manual and compare and combine the wires i need to hook up...
and there are other posts that people have discussed this or given guides/info.
ive looked over the manuals, and if im reading them correctly...it can be done.
ive DUG for these 'other posts' that were mentioned above here, and i cant find a thing.
So if anyone could point me in the right direction, or help me out with the wiring from a 2009 bose no nav no backup camera system to a 2013 bose, nav, backup camera system that would be fantastic.
thanks ahead of time for anyone that can help out =)
