Consult III from OBD2tool
Been a lurker on here for a while but now I need help!
On my 09 G37 xs 7AT, it sat for a bit during this COVID crap. I went to go for a drive the other day and all dash lights went out, got the key logo on the dash, turn signals stopped working and car wouldn't turn off. Pulled the battery to kill it. Let it sit and when I came back it would start but turn signals didn't work and I heard fluttering on the passenger side. I noticed my passenger side was wet from a recent storm on the carpet and the bcm is over there, I figure out the bcm must be shot. Steering lock still clicks when starting to note also. Long story short, I have my bcm part # and realize the new bcm needs to be programmed when I order one. Has anyone used this consult cable and software before?

Reprogramming the i-keys (all of them) to the "new" BCM is not as simple as plugging in the CONSULT-3 and typing a few keys. Additional software (ASIST) is required as is the Nissan security card for the laptop.
I am sure there are various workarounds and software "hacks" that one might use. I just wanted to offer a heads up that the whole process is not as simple, or cheap, as it sounds. This is why most people find a reputable locksmith (or the stealership) to do the key reprogramming.
For the record I am not trying to hijack the thread nor block a potential transaction. Just saying...

you could take the bcm apart and clean it very well and see if that fixes it. You cold put the circuitboard in the dishwasher and run it on a light cycle. people in the retro computer community do this with corroded motherboards. It works really well. Using 99% isopropyl alcohol as a rinse and a toothbrush might work.
I appreciate all the feedback. I am going to consider my options and follow up on what happened.. In case anyone stumbles upon this thread I will add that I found this ( link below) and may see what other scantools offer this functionality :
I promised a follow up and I hate when threads end with no answer. I ended up buying a new bcm from Austin Infiniti in Texas ($450). Had it shipped to me in Missouri and let the dealer program my keys to it. Total cost $700 (bcm +reprogram) . Local locksmith was also an option ($150 to program) but Dealer gave me a loaner so it made more sense.
