2012 Sedan non bose & nav systems - backup camera

Hi All,
Today I removed the trunk inside cover to see if the harness has a pre-configured camera plug and I found 1 plug that wasn't in use.
can anyone advise if that is for the trunk lid camera?
I am interested in buying the trunk lid with the camera slot and install a camera in it.
BTW I also have the PX6 pheonix screen on its way.
Thanks.

Can you show a picture of the wires for the 4-pin connector circled here:

The camera connector will have four (4) wires: red, black, yellow, and white. Here is a pic of the camera connector itself:

I am 99% confident your mystery connector is for the camera.

Hope this helps...

Hi,
I have only 2 wires, black & green -
WIRING HARNESS OEM 24027-1NA0B
I wonder if I can change it to the camera harness...

Ok, the connector you have is for the (optional) rear spoiler (not the chrome thing) that has the integrated LED brake light:

Should you decide to later install a spoiler you will need this connector for the 3rd brake light.

You can repurpose this connector, but in the end you will still have to run wires from your headunit to the camera.

I do not know offhand of any aftermarket cameras that you could use. I am sure a Google search will yield a ton of (mostly useless) results.

There are plenty of OEM cameras on eBay ranging from $35 and up that will fit perfectly.

but I can't use OEM camera due to the fact that I don't have the correct wiring, no?
so that leaves me with aftermarket camera I think

Aftermarket or OEM, you will still need to run wiring from the headunit to the rear. I did and it is not that difficult. I went from '08 non-NAV to '14 NAV in my '08 Coupe and only ran 2 wires for the camera. Using OEM will make the install easier and cleaner IMO.

A new harness is not the answer and will not help you. Depending on your skill set you will either have to run your own wires or have a reputable shop do the work.

I do not know how the Phoenix unit is wired but the OEM camera will need 4 wires (¹power, ²ground, ³signal, ⁴signal shield). You will have to verify how the Phoenix unit connects the camera and go from there. It is not hard at all once you verify proper wiring.

Again, you will have to check how the Phoenix unit is configured before you go about modifying your cars wiring. These are questions should be directed to Phoenix- after all, it is their product you are installing.
