Bluetooth Question
Bluetooth Question
I have a 2008 G37S. I have paired my iPhone 8 and am able to play music as well as answer calls through the car's system. How can I play music without having to plug the phone into the cord in the middle console? Is there something I need to buy so that the car recognizes the phone and I don't have to plug the cord into the phone to play music?
Thanks
Thanks
You should be able to set the phone as an audio source as well as paired for phone calls. Dig around in the system settings menu for Phone - it took me a few minutes to find it too.
Also - if you plug into the aux usb port it will prioritize that connection over bluetooth IIRC. I charge with a plug in the cigarette lighter to avoid that very thing.

Not sure I have the answer but I just remember from reading random threads over the years. That you car will only do Bluetooth for calls and NOT for audio streaming as stupid as this sounds I think this might be the case.....
I was afraid you were going to say that......
That may be correct. I did some looking for the G owner's manual and found this https://owners.infinitiusa.com/conte...ualsandguides/ but it doesn't seem to go back before 2011.
Your owners manual should talk about how to set up bluetooth and what it will do.
Alternatively, you can get a bluetooth dongle like this:
Add a 30-pin to USB cable, and plug into the USB port. The car stereo should see it as a USB media player, and you can stream to it. I've used this in several pre-bluetooth cars that have USB or aux-in connections into the stereo.
