I have a dashcam I want to put under my mirror. It has a 10 foot long power cable that goes into the cigarette lighter. I'd prefer to route it to the lighter port in the arm rest (I like keeping the ash tray port clean). I was wondering if anyone had any pics and/or tips of a CLEAN way to route into the arm rest port?
Also is there any way I could extent or expand the cigarette light ports? I was thinking I could maybe change the placement to make it easier for a clean cable route.
EDIT:I found a great solution! For $29 on Amazon there is a wire harness adapter for the power mirror that adds a usb port. I just plugged that in and was able to connect my dashcam with a short USB wire to it. No tools required. Check out my last post from 7/3/2019 for the final images and link to the product.

When I installed my dash camera I purchase a cable to hook it up to the fuse box (lighter fuse)
Cable goes under the edge of the liner down the driver side pillar into the fuse box.
The camera sits behind the mirror and you can hardly see it when inside the car.
I like the way it came out and it keeps everything nice and clean.

Ahh I see. So you took the hardwire kit, then splice the positive fuse adapter into the positive line so you can now plug it into a fuse. And just splice the negative wire into some other negative line by the fuse box. Is that correct?
Did you wire that into the fuse box or splice it into the cigarette lighter wires?
use a fuse tap into the fuse box - pull out original fuse, stick it in bottom fuse tap slot, stick fuse for dashcam in upper slot, connect dashcam positive wire to fusetap.
G37 uses "Low Profile Mini" fuses, so buy that type of fusetap.
+1 for the Invisicord. I used the MirrorTap when I had a radar detector. The camera can't pull more juice than a radar detector so why run all that unnecessary wire?
It came with a very long USB cable. The dashcam is mounted behind and to the right of the mirror - I can't see it at all from the driver seat. The cable is routed toward the right of the car:
First under the headliner trim, down the right A pillar, then into and behind the glovebox. From there it goes under the center console trim, and into the center console storage. It's plugged into a regular USB adapter, along with my iPhone. No wires visible at all.

I didn't even consider tapping into the mirror. Do you need to take off a part of the mirror bezel or something to get access to tap in? Where in the mirror exactly were you able to connect the wires?

I did this for my radar detector. You don't have to take the mirror apart and if you're lucky you won't have to splice wires. It's designed so that the pins just slide into the wiring harness (see manufacturer's pic below) but for me it was too tight so I had to splice into the wires instead.
I found this thing on Amazon. It plugs right into the mirror electrical harness and adds a usb port to it. I'm going to see if this will work with my dashcam if I get a short mini usb cable. I'll report back if it does.
