Hey good afternoon ladies and gents, I just recently acquired a new Q40 after trading in my old 08 G35 sedan. Got a great deal on this car.
However I have a question regarding the new car, my old G had a much better back up camera and this new Q40 looks washed out and fish eye like. It shows cars to the left or right as being close when in fact I have a good inches between them and me. Do you think if I swap a G35/7 camera it'll help or would that even work?
Picture of the rear camera display that you are describing as a "fish eye" look?
If you look in the top left corners it has a curved look. The bushes behind the car are straight and don't taper off like it does in the top right corner. Maybe I'm just so use to my old G
I see what you mean. If the G35/G37 rear cameras have the same connector style as your Q40 than it should plug right in and work. Definitely worth a shot if it really bothers you. The viewing angle definitely points to the camera. Assuming the camera connectors are the same between the different year models, I don't see why it wouldn't fix it.
