Navigation Updates on Sale? Is it enough??

Hey all,
It looks like the navigation updates are on sale for $129 right now, but is that the lowest they typically go? I don't usually use my navigation, but if I could get an update for $99 or so, that might be worth updating. Thoughts?

Sometimes it would be nice to not have to use the phone (especially if you are taking calls for work).

One thing I forgot to ask in the OP was does it typically go down to $99 (don't want to bite too early) :P

I leave location services off, and I don't have any sort of mount to watch my phones navigation.

It's convenient to have it integrated into the dash

i have heard this update might also be an update to the OS making the UI i little snappier tho i dont know this for sure. Something to look into to make it more worth it.

I think the nav and the OS updates are separate.

I find it hard to believe people still use their OEM Nav. Mine is just there for show. I don't ever use it. Using your phone is way faster the easier. Plus the POI on OEM Nav sucks compared to google map.

I wouldn't say that I "use" it, but sometimes when I'm out exploring or I "think" I know how to get somewhere, it's a nice visual aid, so I don't have to slam on brakes to make a turn. ;-).

They drop to 99 at the end of the year, around november or so. I updated mine last year because a lot of the roads I drive on are new, and it was annoying me seeing my car fly over terrain on the nav map. I also have a Sirius Traffic thing with my dads subscription, so Its nice having the maps up to date for traffic to show up properly.

The phone route is the best for me.
You can't beat Google Maps or Waze for updates, traffic, and price.

I use my stock NAV all the time. Reason being is that it does not interrupt my calls or my music through bluetooth since I put the volume of the stock nav all the way down. Also, I've never had an issue with the stock nav here is San Antonio, TX. It's practically a crappier graphic setup of google maps in my opinion. I have no clue why people would get a nav system in their car and NOT use it. Plus using a phone gps uses up data. I dont know about you all but I do NOT have unlimited data.

I updated mine two years ago at that price so my guess is they go on sale in spring and fall. Unless there are a lot of new roads near you then you probably won't notice a difference unless there are other upgrades I'm not aware of. I have the Sirius traffic as well and it's mostly accurate but I wish it included side roads. I find myself using Waze when I need to check traffic on side roads but the in-dash nav is convenient when I'm not worried about traffic.
