08 G37s Bose audio questions and recommendations

Hello

I'm a New owner of a 2008 G37s... Omg this car is awesome! Never thought about buying an Infiniti but fell in love when I saw it... It's an amazing car!

Anyhow the bose system (with nav) sounds great but I'm wanting a bit more so I've been searching and reading and think I understand the basics of the upgrade path... Hu is left alone... Remove speakers amps ect and install line converters/sound procesorrs, amps and speakers...

But i can't find information on how many amplifiers are in my car and how many speakers...

I think there's 3 speakers in each door, one centre of dash, 2 either side of rear seats and 2 rear window...

So 11 speakers...is that correct?

And i haven't looked at the wiring diagram... It's difficult on my phone... But how many amps are there?

I hear that the door woofers are 10'' shallow mount... Anyone know the other speakers measurements?

Thanks in advance... I have spent well over 2 dozen hours looking and reading but couldn't find this information.

Cheers

There are three speakers in each front door, a 10" shallow mount woofer, a 3" mid, and a 1" tweeter in the sail panel. In the rear there are two 3" mid/full ranges one on each side of the rear seat and two 6" X 9" woofers in the package tray below the rear glass. There is also a 3" speaker in the center/top of the dash. The amps are located in the trunk under the plastic cover in the back driver's side corner. the larger one is a multi-channel that powers the door speakers and the rear seat and center dash speakers. The smaller amp stacked on top of the multi-channel is a mono single channel amp that powers the two 6" x 9" speakers in the package tray. The multi-channel has equalization and limits the frequency response of the speakers it drives. The oem HU is decent and has 24/96 Burr-Brown dacs in it. I recently replaced the entire Bose system, keeping the oem HU, in my 08 Coupe. It's a tedious installation but the results are worth it. There's not a lot of room in the trunk so you have to get creative. I replaced all the door speakers with two-way components. I bought adapters for them from carspeakeradapters.com. I replaced the rear seat 3" speakers with a pair of 3.5" full range speakers and made adapters for them. I replaced the 10" with a 6.5" and replaced the 3" mid with a tweeter, disconnecting the oem tweeter and leaving it in place in each door. I put two 10" subs in the trunk in a supercrewsounds sealed enclosure built to fit in the trunk and disconnected the two 6"x 9" speakers in the package tray. Replaced the Bose amps with a Zapco 4-channel and a Zapco mono single channel. There's photos of it all in this forum somewhere. They're located under the title "6.5" Components for $300" in Audio/Video. Feel free to pick what's left of my brain.

That's exactly what I was looking for.... Thank you so much!

I've been researching processors... Guess I need to decide what I want to spend as there anywhere from 100 to 1000 Bucks...

I like the Base and kick the front speakers give... Little leary of going with components as I don't want to loose the base in the front... Any recommendations for speakers?

Thanks again for your input

That is the OEM Infiniti spoiler. You remove the chrome piece, drill some holes into the trunk, and then mount. Spoiler is ~$500 and comes with installation instructions.
