Subwoofer install

Ok here is the deal, iv done Many sub install in older gen cars. ie: install new HU, run rc's from headunit with remote, to amp, then to subs.

Going to be installin 2 12s and amp in the g37 subs are in amp in mounted.

Now, i have been reading about tapping into the xm harness(purple/violet wire) for the remote.

Seems good, here is what i dont get. Do i need to run a LOC? I do not have a stock subwoofer or bose. If i have to run a lock, where do i run it from? I do not have rear deck speakers, seems i just have door speakers? Do i need to run the loc from one of the door speakers? 2 locs? One of each door speaker? Then rcas from the loc back into the trunk?

Im not used to running locs this will be the first time ever in about 30+ installs

I can run the power, and locate a ground just not sure on the rcas , since i cannot run them from the stock HU as im not sure of the stock unit has pre outs . I wana keep the stock HU, all im tryin to acomplish is. Adding trunk subs an amp, and keep stock interiors and stock Hu.

Coupe or Sedan?
Check my Build Thread for my subwoofer install in a 2013 coupe. Sedan may be slightly different, but there are threads out there for each.
Bottom line, no LOC needed.

I have a sedan and just recently wired up my subs. I purchased a LOC, but was advised against using it. I installed my subs without the LOC and it's working completely fine.

I cut off one end of the RCA cable, which should expose 4 wires in total (2 from each plug). I then wired the RCA cable directly to wires 23-26 on harness B41. Wires 23-26 are the rear left & rear right door speakers. I wired my remote wire to wire 20 on the B41 harness.

Ahh, non-Bose. Sorry, I have no idea then.

To use a LOC, it would require wiring to both the right and left speaker. I'm not exactly sure how to wire that since the speakers are on both sides and there is only one LOC. My guess is that you'll have to somehow extend the wires from the rear door speakers all the way to the trunk, but I'm not sure how that's going to work.

You might have to take a peek around the factory head unit and figure out which wires from which harness is giving signal to the rear door speakers, then extend those wires all the way to the trunk. This way makes sense, but that's a lot of trim removal.

Someone else might have better advice. I'm still a novice when it comes to working with vehicles.
