How many different stereo head units?

My wife just bought a 2009 g37 with a base stereo. I have been reading but I can't tell how many different stereos this model came with. Are there three stereo models (base, base with xm satellite, and premium bose with nav) or are there just two models of the stereo?

The reason I ask is that of course we want to do some upgrades on the stereo. I can find a couple options but they appear to require the XM option on the stereo. I don't believe our stereo came with XM, just an AUX. Are they one in the same?

Also, I could not find a clear answer as to whether or not we could just switch out the existing stereo and controls with the stereo and controls of a newer model g37 say a 2010 or 2012 that already has NAV and bluetooth.

Ideally we would like the Apple carplay. We upgraded our g35 6mt to a stereo that has that (pioneer 4000NEX) and it is flippin awesome, it works with both my android and her iphone. But I think our options are more limited with the g37.

Can anyone help out here?

If that kit was like a hundred bucks then maybe it'd be worth the time saved but I'd rather have a custom fabricated install so your interior doesn't look like a 1982 hatchback civics.
