I'm still confused lol. One connection or two connections to my phone? I see that audio is picked up through the harness and fed into the navtool box, but does that audio signal then get carried to the HDMI connection or do I have to use another connection to my phone from the navtool 3.5mm jack? Based on what I read from your replies, I am guessing that I need HDMI to get video and then 3.5mm from my phone to the navtool to get the audio. Since I have the navigation, I can get the audio via bluetooth anyway, but I'm just curious about the hard-wire, that's all. I hope that makes sense and you can figure out what I'm asking.. Thanks.
hi, from the phone its only HDMI to NAvTool

From NavTool video is sent to the screen and audio is sent to vehicles aux via navtool 3.5 mm audio jack

Keep in mind that since this is a mirror, you have to keep the screen on in order to have it show on the display. If you turn off your phone display, it stops the mirroring.
This is terrible for your battery, and will make the phone run pretty hot.
One option is to use a "black out" type app that technically keeps the phone screen on, but applies a black filter over everything. This keeps the mirroring alive, but doesn't show anything on your screen.

I'm confused. So you have to use the aux input AND the lightning port on the iPhone to make this work?
Asking because I have the iPhone 7 which only has the lightning port.

From my understanding (and bare in mind I know nothing of iPhones) the lightning port will bring in your video to the navtool. It "may" bring audio as well but I don't know enough about the lightning port in order to confirm this. It will need to be converted to HDMI to connect to the NAVTOOL

However

There is no Aux Input on the Navtool. Only output. So if the Lightning port does not bring in audio, you will need to sync via bluetooth to get audio. The audio output on the Navtool only works if its getting an audio signal from its HDMI input.
