it simply connects back of the screen using plug and play harness, you hook up your smartphone and you get to display it on the front tscreen

This is really awesome and it would be great to be able to display Waze app, YouTube etc on my 2013 Nav screen, I just don't know how all that would work, do you have any pictures/videos of that installed how it functions etc?

I'm curious as well. It would be great to be able to have google maps on the screen as it is faster than the factory nav. Also my gf would appreciate the video capability for roadtrips.

Cool, looking forward to a video on a G37 or infiniti for that matter... I'll watch this video in the meanwhile, also would that work with screen mirroring an android phone on my screen in my g37 sedan with navigation or it's only apple devices?

If I connect using HDMI, does the harness also tap into the audio feed? Or is HDMI only for video and I still need to use 3.5mm Aux to get sound with HDMI video? Do I need 1 connection or 2 connections for my phone to get AUDIO+VIDEO?

I'm pretty sure hdmi transmits audio and video.

That's the case when plugging things to your tv via hdmi cord like a set-top box (cable/satellite TV) a ps4/xbox or your computer.

I could be wrong about this module though

Ya most of the HDMI applications carry both audio and video, but not all. There are some HDMI applications out there that only carry video. Also, even though the HDMI cable itself can carry the audio signal, it doesn't necessarily mean that the navtool box is carrying that signal throughout. Depends on a few things.

I'm still confused lol. One connection or two connections to my phone? I see that audio is picked up through the harness and fed into the navtool box, but does that audio signal then get carried to the HDMI connection or do I have to use another connection to my phone from the navtool 3.5mm jack? Based on what I read from your replies, I am guessing that I need HDMI to get video and then 3.5mm from my phone to the navtool to get the audio. Since I have the navigation, I can get the audio via bluetooth anyway, but I'm just curious about the hard-wire, that's all. I hope that makes sense and you can figure out what I'm asking.. Thanks.
