Bought my first G37, have a HUGE mystery
Hi, I purchased a used 2013 G37xS sedan from our local Infiniti dealer last night (They initially said I could drive it home last night, but changed their mind as I did the paperwork stating that the tint removal guy went home for the night, as it needed the window tint peeled off for MD laws). I picked it up tonight, and, on the way home I noticed the NAV system was very laggy, and froze for long periods of time. The sky was clear, so I was a bit baffled. Later on, parked here at home, I was fiddling with the NAV settings when I noticed a grey cable, resembling an ethernet cable, coming from under the dash and leading under the driver's seat. Curious, I investigated and found the other end contained a little box with a small switch, with two options: TV and NP. I had insight to place this little box up on top of the dash and voila, the NAV was working smoothly and normally as I drove up my neighborhood slowly.
I assume this was some kind of GPS antenna or receiver? The dealership claimed the nav system was stock, but this looked a bit.. aftermarket. Any ideas? I would like to know a bit more before bringing it back, being their service center probably left it hanging down their accidentally to begin with. (I could be wrong though, which would be a good thing this time).
Here are some pics I took of my surprise find.

Any guidance would be very much appreciated =]
(Sorry Mods, had no idea what this was the time I posted, now I do. Didn't mean to post pics of a forum forbidden part.. Feel free to delete thread. )

Nevermind, after 5 hours of scouring the net, I found my answer. Seems it is a bypass of nav and dvd driving locks, and the nav didn't work because it was in TV mode, which I switched to NP before placing on the dash (which confused me). Oh well, glad it's not something wrong with the car at least.
