• Integration with other features, e.g., MPG graphs, maintenance warnings, etc.
• Backup camera in earlier models
• Built-in XM radio if desired

i have ‘navigation’ in my 2009 g37. I’m not sure I totally agree although I understand your point. The navigation system in reality is an electronic map. A map that requires you to update it every few years that cost $150 l+ to buy/install. For me (I’d assume many others) the biggest need is true navigation that includes regular traffic updates etc. Sirius/XM navigation/traffic is abhorrent. It’s updated 2x/day and unfortunately that’s renders it pretty much useless for me.

If I could push the reset id have a true navigation system installed when I purchased the car. So I’ve accepted waze/google vis the phone is my gps.

I guess the debate goes on. But I still believe the advantages of factory nav outweigh the use of other methods.

BTW, traffic information in my Lexus nav includes most main streets, not just freeways as was the case in my G37. I believe as these systems improve there will be even less interest in portable devices.

My map version is "12-13 MAP No 1"
Assuming that means the map is the from 2012-2013, so assuming it never been updated?
the map was *released* in 2012, with map data that is a year or two old when it was released.

use Google Maps or Waze if you want to navigate accurately.

i had a brand new QX60 as a loaner vehicle - the nav lead me 2 blocks and one street over from my actual destination.
