The only thing I didn't like about the update was the load time........70 minutes is too long to just sit there with the engine running. You almost have to do it that way as you have to remove each cd after it has loaded(there are 4 of them).

 

I updated the Nav on my M35x a about a year and a half ago. My first trip, I had to go to midtown Manhattan, entered the address and I guess 42nd Street in Manhattan is too obscure for the Nav to recognize. The previous version had no issues. I contacted whoever the supplier of the Nav software is and they couldn't care less. I did get my money back and loaded the old version. How could they drop 42nd Street off the release? Now, on my G37S, if it isn't in the Nav, I use Google on my phone.

Mine is updated every time I bring up google maps on my phone. Sat Nav is old school unless, of course, your out in BFE and have no signal.

 

Speaking of Navigation, not sure if the G navigation is the same in my 2012 M but does anyone know how to delete the "recent" destination entries? This list tends to accumulate over time and I just assume "flush" it out.

 

Just purchased an update. It's now 5 DVDs and it's $99 plus tax, free shipping.

 

This weekend, I suffered a SNAFU as a result of updating my navigation. This past Sunday, the temperature was about 35°F here in Peoria IL. (approx. 2 1/2 hours south of Chicago). As per the instructions, I ran the engine while updating the navigation. After the update completed, I attempted to restart the car, but the engine wouldn't turn over. By the next morning the battery was completely dead. It was the original battery in a 2011 G37x coupe, purchased in November of 2011. Of course, the Infiniti Roadside Assistance expires 48 months after purchase, so I missed that by a month. Furthermore, since the nearest Infiniti Dealership is 2 hours away, I don't really benefit from the battery warranty.

It seems that the older battery in cold weather couldn't survive the update, even with the engine running.

 

And you have the data plan to support it. Otherwise yes, smartphone GPS is amazing.

 

Who even uses factory GPS?? They all suck phone aps have way better GPS. Anyway theres a map website that sells them a lot cheaper than the stealer i forgot the site. Google will tell u. I use WAZE ap that **** is awsome tells u where cops are and everything
