I am trying to find out what battery will fit in our stock location in the engine bay. From what I understand the G37 uses a series 35 which has dimensions of 9.1" L - 6.9" W - 8.9" H. I am thinking about getting a XS Power D3400 D3400 - XS Power and the dimensions are 10.28 L - 6.75 W - 7.24 H. Would getting this battery remove the necessity for adding another battery to my audio system (1000 WATT)? I would rather not add a battery to the trunk unless its needed.

 

A group 34 generally will not fit, I tried to put a group 34 yellow top in my coupe and there was no way it would work.(without resorting to butchery)

 

I guess that +1" in Length is what kills it then? The other two dimensions are actually smaller than the 35 series spec. Crazy..

How do you figure? I know they have D3400R versions that are reversed, but I dont think that is the norm.

 

They do sell some batteries with reverse polarities. Just have to find the one you want.

Nine.1 amp and a Soundstream TN4.900D. Roughly 2000-2200rms for the subs and door speakers

and the stock alt. Very little voltage drop.
I was impressed.

 

Ok, the battery I currently have installed is a Napa 7524F, 24 BCI group, CA: 850 (675 CCA). L = 10.75" , H = 9.00", and W = 6.75. I want to install the XS Power D3400, 34 BCI group, CA: 1000 (CCA unknown), L = 10.25" , H = 7.2", and W = 6.75". In every size category the D3400 is either equal, or less than the NAPA battery. NAPA does not list my currently installed battery as even being a fit for the G37. Im trying to find a retailer close to me that I can have them dry fit the D3400in my car to verify that, according to the numbers above, it fits the G37.

I hope the D3400 will prevent me from having to install another battery to get clean, consistent power to my soon to be new system.

 

I want the D3400 too, that is a powerhouse of an AGM battery, 1000 cranking amps too. That's a **** ton. I had a XS Power battery in my last two cars, it's was awesome.

You won't need a second battery unless you're going 3000WRMS or above. Let me know if you get one to fit in the stock location without modification. I measured the stock tray and it will be super close to fitting length wise.

 

OP did you ever get the D3400 to fit?

 

I am waiting on some cash before I order it. Im pretty sure it will fit based on my measurements. The fact that I have a battery in there right now that is larger than the car should be able to hold means someone may have done mods to the mount. Ill let you know once I get it.

 

The 2009 G37X comes with a group 35 battery. The dimension of the group 35 battery are 10-1/4 (L) 6 7/8 (w) 8 7/8 (h)
If you read battery charts you will see that the 2008 G35 calls for a 24F battery. 10-3/4 (L) 6 13/16 (w) 10 3/4" ((h). The G35 and G37x are built on the same chasis.
The group 35 battery sits on a small battery tray (like a booster seat) to increase its height. Remove the battery tray and you will find a full side battery tray underneath. You can then install the 24F battery without a problem giving you much more CCA's
A group 34 battery is 10 1/4 (L) 6 13/16 (w) 7 7/8 (h). It will fit as well.

 

based on recommendation of this site, i recently got a Home Depot Exide 24F battery with 800CCA for $99.

couldn't even find another battery with more than 750CCA, let alone anywhere near that price.

 

A series 24 battery will fit as well. I just got one from my Infiniti store and it has 700 CCA compared to the series 35 battery that also fits, but only has 550 CCA.
