Navigation update for 2010 G37 convertable
So much information, bad and good. Here is the real navigation update for the 2010 G37 convertible.
No, the DVD drive for an update is not in the trunk, not behind the glove box and not under a seat. It is the dash CD player! Here is the response I got from Infiniti:
Hello Jerry,
Thank you for contacting Infiniti Navigation Center.
To install the map update, the DVD will be inserted into the audio player. It will ask for a license key to start the download onto the hard drive of the navigation system.
If you need additional assistance, please send us your feedback by replying to this email.
Kind regards,

I would not recommend this purchase. I spent the $150.00 and just finished my CD update on my 2011 sedan. The result was roughly 1.5 hours and after the update, looks exactly the same. Let me clarify, I was not expecting a new interface per say, but I was in a loaner (2015 Q50) and my neighborhood streets were on there (newish subdivision). After I completed the "2015" update, nothing!

Visually it's the same.
I agree this update was a waste and I would not reccomend. it will not fix any BT issue.

The only update that's generic is the headunit firmware. If you're not having issues, leave it as is.
My MY '12 had issues where the HU would lockup on lengthy routes (500mi+) with concurrent mp3 playback. Sometime in early 2018 I updated to whatever was available which fixed the problem.
Some mfg's (kia/hyundai) release free updates periodically (2x year). They don't charge for 'em but im sure the cost is built into the price of the vehicle.

I had success with a an update disc however this came from a tech at Nissan and he was the one to perform the update. Nothing special after other than updated gas stations, etc.
