Adjusting jog wheel 'resolution'?

So I just picked up my 08 G37S and I've really been enjoying it, but one thing that irk's me is that I have my iPod connected with the factory connector and using the jog wheel or buttons is PAINFULLY slow (I have somewhere around 5000 different artists on my iPod, so going from A to G is about as far as I have made it )

I did some searching but could not seem to come up with anything... Is there anyway to make that jog wheel scroll faster? Or is there any solution you guys have come up with to get through artists faster?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, essentially there is. Try turning the jog wheel really fast and it'll start scrolling through just the letters of the alphabet, so then you'll only have 26 things to scroll through. Get to the letter you want (say it's "S"), and then stop. After a second, it'll land on the top of the "S" list and you can scroll from there. Of course, since you have 5,000 artists you'll still have some scrolling to do, but at least that takes care of most of the problem.

This only works for cars with navigation. If you don't have navigation, you can't scroll by letter.
