Manually adding contacts without nav?

I read through past threads on this topic and generally came up with "it can't be done", but they were talking about different model year cars and different phones. I realize chances are slim that anything significant has changed, but I thought I would ask anyway.

I have a 2013 G37 sedan without nav. I have successfully paired my ATT iPhone 5s to the car, but the iOS I'm running (8.2) does not support downloading contacts to the car's phonebook. There are no instructions I can find in the owner's manual which cover entering contacts manually for cars without nav. Does this mean I can't add contacts to the car's phonebook? It's going to be really annoying if I can't use the Bluetooth to make outgoing calls while I'm driving just because I can't get contacts saved in the car's phonebook.

Oh, and feel free to tell me I'm an idiot if I've totally missed something. I'll happily take the criticism if it gets me to a solution.

Thanks!
Mel

Nope, your not an idiot. To "fix" the download issue with my non nav 2010 and BlackBerry 9900 bold, I ended up trying all my friends phones to see if they would "download" the address book. Was thinking of changing phones once I found one that worked, and I lucked out finding that an older version of the blackberry software worked. Sorry this doesn't help you though.
