Update NAV map?
fun2drum- i agree with that, have had a few friends upgrade and basically stating similar issues- i have not upgraded my '11 and there are new roads that i know float on until i connect, but i have a garmin and upgrade is free and it does all of the negatives you mentioned without much of an issue, but i like the dash as well and no clutter, but when taking some long/new trips, i go with my garmin and so far its been 100% so until infiniti bumps up their game, will stay with the current version.
That's why when purchasing the update it's necessary to supply your nav system Unit ID number.
Is there any way to test the new maps out via webpage? I'd like to see if my neighborhood appears on the maps. There's also this one street which the map doesn't realize connects to another street. Oddly, once I'm within 1 mile of that street, it all of a sudden realizes it connects and stops telling me to make a U-Turn and drive 40 minutes out of my way.
Go look at a new Infiniti with nav & plug in your address....
You need an activation code to use it. It's not 1 use but the code must match the set.
Be careful with any download disks or Ebay....
Is there no way to just download the new maps from some place?

I did the update a few months ago (disc version) and I'm very happy with its address accuracy. Overall it was a good upgrade for my uses and I don't regret it, but there are still annoying issues that are beneath what I would expect in a premium car. I have to watch out for wasted miles. Sometimes it will have me turn onto a highway for a few miles only to be u-turned back the other way, passing the point where I got on in the first place. It also sometimes tries to take me up the wrong way on entrance ramps into oncoming traffic. It still doesn't recognize as many addresses as any of my other previous GPS systems, and it still doesn't display the speed limit except for on some interstates. It doesn't display the car speed at all, or display the estimated time of arrival. I realize it shows the time remaining but that's just not the same. On all the G37 GPS negatives I just mentioned, my Garmin does all of those exceptionally well. So does my 4 year old TomTom. I still prefer using the in-dash unit in the G37 just because it looks good and no dangling wires, but with technology being what it is and with these cars' being so good in so many ways, I don't understand why such a lackluster GPS is being used in them.

Skeener, it's got to be running during the whole install. At least that's the way it was with my 2011.
G37Xtreme, I don't recognize it being anything close to my TomTom or my Garmin in any way. It would be interesting to know the answer to that.

So I'm curious if anyone has purchased this update already? I can't see paying 200 bucks for this update and was wondering if anyone had the disc already. Anyone interested in selling them so I could update my car? My 2012 came with the No1 update which is pretty out dated. Once used, I'm not sure what good the disc are again.

Procedure
One good thing is that you do not have to go through the entire 5 disc sequence in one sitting even though that statement has been made somewhere. I was able to upload a disc, turn off the car, and resume w/ the next disc the next time I went somewhere. No need to budget for a 90 minute trip or idle session in your driveway wasting gas.
