Nav System Computer & Your Home Address..CHANGE IT!
Well just did LA to San Diego back to LA. Nav computer took us to our exact location. On the way back i just selected HOME, and off we went. After blowing by our exit on the 405 i was thinking the computer was pulling a HAL. Previous owners home address was still stored in the memory & i was driving to 12345 Somewhere St in Valencia,Ca. Big article on this recently about this issue on Yahoo & in the WSJ. Change your home address on the car & on your phone. Bad guys will get it use it. I changed mine to LAPD station 2 streets over!!
What I am getting from this is that you didn't know what exit you were supposed to get off at to get to YOUR own house! LoL
All joking aside...good info. No one ever thinks about that when getting rid of a car or electronics. Your info definitely sits around

So the guys who steal your car aren't smart enough to look at any number of items in your glove compartment like your insurance card or other things with your home address on it? Obviously only a clueless person would leave their addresses and phone history in the nav when selling a car. The same dummies who don't wipe their cell phone or computer hard drive when selling them.

one of my buddies recently bought a 2nd hand car from a local Nissan dealer. i dropped by his place shortly after he got home to check it out. i happened to open the glovebox and to my surprise it was stuffed full of documents from the previous owner: insurance info, vehicle financing and financial/banking records, membership cards, addresses, service records (this was good), credit card bills, pay stubs, employment records, traffic tickets, and on and on.
part of this info was also found in a folio in the trunk. it was unreal. the guy must have used his car as his home filing cabinet. not smart.
the best part was the Nissan dealer had done a 160-pt inspection and "comprehensive vehicle detailing service" as part of their CPO process. maybe they did the detailing in the dark at night...

I had a similar experience when I purchased my G, previous owners info all over the place in the nav, in the glove box and also in the trunk. best thing I found was a pretty pipe hidden in the spare tire well lol
