Sedan sub "tube"?

I've been looking for a way to add sub to a '10 sedan, was wondering if anyone has used an up-firing box with some kind of tube connecting the woofer to the rear deck opening, so all the bass is directed in the cabin. I have always had subs in my cars and used sealed boxes, haven't had to deal with the trunk as an enclosure for a long time. Seems like you would loose a lot using a box just stuck in the trunk.

I added an Infinity Basslink for additional bass with a small footprint. It's seem to work well enough for the price but I'm not a audiophile.

In the trunk far back in the driver's side corner.

In my 2004, I mounted mine in the same spot. Sounded good as I believe the Basslink is 'corner loaded'. I have a trunk mat in my 2013, so I am contemplating added another one as I don't want to cut/drill through the mat. I wonder if there is a self-powered woofer that can mount either beneath the rear tray or to the back of the rear seat structure?
