I rather just pull the cable and not have to spend that much. Wish I knew what tool I needed for it. Guess my battery will die again before I find out lol

Granted, it is expensive, but IMO it's worth the POM. Now I know I don't have to worry about being stranded somewhere waiting for AAA to jump me. It's definately a nifty little unit.

we would all like a charged battery, but since the car battery goes dead unless you drive 20+ for a full charge, it's nice to be able to start your car without having to wait for triple A. I'd rather have the jumper as an alternative instead of tinkering around with the G programing.

I was at a car show this morning and a person with a 5.7 litre Corvette had a dead battery. The lights wouldn't even go on. The Powerall started it without any issues. This thing is great, I'm going to buy one for my daughter.

anyone know if a Dorman 911-504 Vent Control Valve can be used in place of 14935-JF00A? looks to be half the cost of a Infiniti verison..

No I do not. I just found it by searching for a compact battery jumper. I had the battery go dead 3 times in the past year and was tired of having the problem. This unit will start cars up to 6 months after a charge. As long as you have 3 of the 5 lights green, it's good to go. IMO, it's a great product. I keep it in the trunk with my owner's manual.

I was thinking of doing this same thing but was wondering if anyone knew for people with 2008 that has the Valve TSB Done, was the ECU Reprogrammed to start the alternator always or is it still only starting after 10 miles, I need to do this too.

Also if you do this mod will alternator start only with engine or even when car is in ACC Position? I am guessing only with engine, either way I like to sit and listen to music while I am not driving and hate the battery dies for that reason, I am going to get a Optima Yellow Top but would also like to get this done so I get maximum power and never have to worry about a low battery

Our alternators only start If you drive the car 10 miles or more, so if you make a lot of short trips like me 5-8 miles your battery might never be getting charged while driving, that's why people are talking about removing a wire from BCM Module that would make alternator always start when you start the car no matter how much you drive St first. In the end my battery will never get charged unless I drive 10 miles and will end up dying if I don't drive it for few days. But the TSB they had on the 2008 I figured the ECM reprogramming probably modified something so the alternator worked a little more often as I had informed them I made short trips.

It's the yellow wire in your ipdm which is in your engine bay

Also I want to mention I had spoke to a Infiniti tech on the Just Answer website before I went and did my TSB and he had mentioned to have dealer also pull that wire for me but dealer refused.

He had said

"Have them disconnect the one wire out of the IPDM that the Ecm uses to control the alternator"

Before I do it I want some input on people that have done this and that this DIY is correct and mentioning the correct wire.

Also what's the proper way of doing this instead of yanking the wire out or cutting it.
