What's wrong with my USB connection?

i leave an ipod plugged in my center console and have never had any issues. yesterday when i try to switch over to USB i get an error message that says Check USB memory or iPod.

i checked the ipod - it plays. unplugged everything and plugged it back in - same message. Got another cord that i know works - charge my iPad with it - and still got the same error message.

any ideas?

That happened to me a while back, no idea what caused it. I turned the car off and back on and it recognized it no problem. I haven't had the issue since. Seems intermittent, not unlike the nav screen not turning on every so often.

Hopefully they can replicate it.

I had issues with mine as well. My ipod would play maybe 4 songs in a row then freeze. I had to remove it and plug it back in but it just did the same thing again. Thats when I switched to the damn thumb drive...less bs. Good luck, let us know what you find out

I know this is an old thread, but it's still pretty applicable to my problem. I have started using the USB thumb drive, with all my music loaded to it. But my problem is that intermittently while listening to the radio, the USB or aux decides to start playing by itself. This also happened when listening to music on the USB, randomly it will switch over and start playing radio. Anybody know what this might be, or how I can fix it? Thanks in advance for any help anyone might be able to give.
