XM Extra's Question
Hey any of you guys with the Nav System use the traffic and weather option? Is that extra or does that come with a general XM setup? Curious if I am going to bother setting that up...definitely going to do the music but wanted to know if the other stuff is worth it. Thanx
Don't have it on my G but I do have it on the QX b/c it's charged above and beyond the regular XM subscription. It's "nice" but there are better options on your cell phone (Waze, google, etc.). The nice part about Weather/Traffic on XM is that it's integrated into your nav system.

yeah the weather seems pointless....I can look out the damn window and tell that! LoL.
But the traffic updates might be cool and useful for me. I just deleted Waze cuz it kills battery life and I cant use it while I am driving

Then you might like the traffic part. Both of our vehicles don't have "tough" commutes so the traffic feature is more often used during the weekend and summer. It would be worth a few bucks/month but that's it...to me.

My commute is not too bad either but I do have fairly unpredictable traffic in my area. I might check it out. Thanx guys. Yo Keg where do you live? I thought Waze was a California thing...you in Cali? Of course I suppose it doesnt make much sense to have an app that works only in one state. LoL
Both are options. In my area, Knoxville TN, traffic is not available so I opted not to subscribe. Check the siriusXM website for availability in your area. IMHO, not worth the extra $$ if you have a smartphone.

i have navtraffic and xm radio. i have an 08 so i don't have wheather.
the navtraffic is pretty sweet. at first it was only the major highways that had the traffic flow. but now some major streets are having it as well.
mind you this all depends on your area.
i love how i can select my route and zoom out on navi and see the expected traffic flow for my commute. i can take detours and check additional info for accidents or road closures.
pretty nice to see
green, orange, red and flashing red are right beside the roads to show flow.
