leaving ipod plugged in

So I thought downloading my music to a mini usb flash driv ewould be the way to go but I don't like how it displays the folders. I have an iPod that I don't use so I thought I'd just plug that in in the center console and leave it there - always plugged in. It plugs to the usb port as well right? Any downside to leaving it plugged in all the time? It shouldn't be any sort of drain on the battery since it's just a usb right? Any other issues with leaving it plugged in?

Ditto. I've had my 120 GB classic plugged in since last year. Turns off when the car's off anyway...

Shouldn't have any problem leaving it plugged in.

I leave my old ipod plugged in 100% of the time with no issues over a year of ownership. I do have to unplug and replug every once in a while (maybe once every week or two) when it fails to see the ipod.

Plugged in for 2+ years. No problem except for some trouble reading every half a year haha.

I have my ipod touch in my car for the past year and it is plugged in all the time. I use the WiFi sync so it updates my playlists from itunes without having to take my ipod out of my car.
