Adjust Rear Camera Time-off Delay?

I have rented a few cars in the last couple of months, and I really like how (specifically on the Chevy Cruze I drove, as well as the Impala) the backup camera does not immediately turn off after putting car into drive. Instead, it stays on for a few seconds (perhaps it's a MPH setting).

I find this particularly valuable because sometimes I coast out of reverse and into drive, so I am still moving in reverse slightly while the shift to Drive engages.

Smart-mouth comments about preferences or driving style need not apply here--but is there anyone that has changed this time-off delay or has heard of the possibility?

Don't know if its possible to change on the G's but I know exactly what your talking about. My wife's ford explorer stays on a few seconds after the car is in drive. It's a nice feature because, just like you said, rolling back and changing from R to D or N you still have the camera.

There may be a setting in the diagnostics menu UI.
Use at your own risk. Let us know how it goes.

I searched through the hidden diagnostic menu and was able to get some details about the camera (brightness, focus, contrast, etc.) but nothing specific to setting the time that it stayed on after switching out of reverse.

Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

I don't know if anyone cares, but I think I figured out a way to do this.

Once I try it out, I will post again for those interested.

That definitely is a cool feature and I would definitely like to be able to do that on my sedan especially since its 6mt and I coast out of reverse to 1st quite often

Wouldn't that be bad for an automatic to shift from R to D while the car is moving?

I think the feature is annoying, but it's a personal opinion and at the same time, I am curious to see if when can do this. Not sure if I would, but I'd like to know
