iPod "shuffle" mode is alphabetical?????
2013 G37S, with the "Studio On Wheels" sound system. Source is iPod (3rd gen).
In "shuffle" mode, it seems to play a few songs at random (like it's supposed to), and then it picks a letter of the alphabet and begins playing only the songs that start with that letter. If I go back to the menu and select "shuffle songs" again, it'll play a few songs at random, and then it'll pick a different letter of the alphabet and start playing only those songs.
So what's going on? In shuffle mode, who's picking the songs - the sound system, or the iPod? Whichiever it is, is there a fix for this?

Sorry for the slow response; I was on vacation for the past week.
Repeat isn't the issue. Songs aren't necessarily repeating, they're just being selected/played in alphabetical order instead of completely at random from the entire collection.
About 5000 songs, maybe 400-500 albums. Tough to guess the # of artists, maybe a couple hundred? With 5000 songs, it's not a coincidence when all of the songs that start with (for example) the letter N get played in alphabetical order.

how many songs do you have? how many different artists?
