Display Resolution Differences

I was curious if there is any resolution difference between the non-nav and navigation displays? My understanding is that only the navigation display for the 2010 to 2013 model year contains a higher resolution? Is that the case? If so, is the non-nav resolution the same as the 2009 model?

Screen resolution is the same between nav and non nav models for the same model year. 2008-2009 = low res, 2010+ = higher res.

2010+ with Nav are higher res "Enhanced Graphic Touchscreen".
2010+ without Nav = lower res like the 08-09 LCD

I got a 2012 G25 loaner (non nav) while my 2012 G37S (with nav) was in the shop. The non nav display was noticeably lower resolution than the nav in my car. Not sure if this was just the G25 or if it applies to the 37 as well.

I've been in 2010 non-nav G37's, and they had the low res version. Same with the 2011 FX35.

Non-Navi: 480x320
Navi: 800x480

Both are crappy low resolution compares to my now almost 3 years old iPod 4th gen which is 960×640 on 3.5". It's a shame that in car business, they call 800x480 "high resolution".

I also noticed the low resolution in a non nav loaner I had. Was atrocious. Not sure how Infiniti can get away with having a screen like that in 2013 no matter what the trim is.

Based on your observation, is the resolution between the 09 and 13 non nav different in any way or is the same and just not affected by glasses?

I am assuming the loaner you got was a 2013 G37?

I'm wondering if there is any difference between the G25 and G37 non-nav units. It seems unlikely, but I am trying to be hopeful since most of the reviews of the G25 mention how low resolution and terrible the display is on the G25:

I'm wondering if there is any difference between the G25 and G37 non-nav units? It seems unlikely and it would be unfortunate since the reviews of the G25 mention how lackluster the display. For example:

Winding Road | Driven: 2011 Infiniti IPL G Coupe And G25 Sedan

"The G25's low-resolution unit lacks clarity, and its screen seems overly prone to glare. At this point, there is not a solution because the G25 has a restricted option list, and the nav system with a better screen is restricted to G37 models."

It appears that it's not just a low resolution issue, it is also has excessive glare which presumably the nav unit dosen't suffer from.

With my sunroof open the glare on my nav screen makes it unreadable when the sun hits it. Terrycs (forum sponser and member) has these I've thought about trying: Nissan / Infiniti Intelligent Key Covers and LCD Covers

The glare might seem less on the nav screen because the contrast is higher, the backup camera was nearly unusable in mid afternoon sun on the g25 loaner I had.

Window tint also makes a world of difference on glare on the screen.
