USB MP3 player on 2010 G37 w/nav

I have my USB stick with folders that have the Artist name and then each of those folders have album names and within those folders are the songs. When I put this in the port the car recognizes it OK but the problem is that it ignores the artist folders and just shows all the individual album folders which amounts to close to a couple hundred. Is there a way to force it to maintain the folder hierarchy or do I just need to deal with it?

I have the same exact question...super annoying. If I have 400 albums I'd like it by artist. Heck, I can't remember half the album titles so I don't know what I'm selecting till it starts playing.

The answer to your question is buy an iPod. Please don't shoot the messenger :/ There is no way to un-F@#K USB playback and Infiniti isn't working on one. The only way to "fix" your problem is to restructure your music collection.
So
D:\Nirvana\Nevermind\Songs
D:\Nirvana\Bleach\Songs
would become
D:\Nirvana - Nevermind\Songs
D:\Nirvana - Bleach\Songs

MediaMonkey has some really awesome features for automating external storage and device file/folder structure you could check out to assist instead of doing it all by hand. Mediamonkey would be your Itunes replacement.

But it's still going to sort by the file creation order (when you copied the files to the thumb drive), not alphabetically, and it's still going to switch between songs while you're scrolling... That's our $3500 head unit, the best Clarion and Infiniti could build!

Thanks for the answer...not what I wanted to hear, but guessed was the case anyway. Looks like I have a LOT of work to do...automated or not.
